Endrick starts for Real Madrid against Sevilla with Vinicius suspended

Endrick starts for Real Madrid for the first time this season as José Mourinho’s side face Sevilla FC in La Liga on Sunday at 21:00. The decision comes with Vinicius suspended, creating an opening in the Real Madrid attack for the former Lyon player.

The match at home to Sevilla closes the ninth round of La Liga. With the Clasico against FC Barcelona only a week away, Real Madrid, led by Kylian Mbappé, do not want to lose further ground on their rival and cannot afford an error in this fixture.

Endrick gets his chance with Vinicius suspended

Vinicius’ suspension is the key selection issue around Real Madrid’s line-up. In his absence, Mourinho has chosen Endrick to start for the first time this season.

That makes the Sevilla match a significant moment for Endrick. The forward has had to wait for this opportunity, and his inclusion adds a fresh attacking element to a Real Madrid side preparing for an important run of fixtures.

The verified team news does not include further details on the rest of the starting XI or any tactical changes. What is clear is that Endrick’s selection is directly linked to Vinicius being unavailable.

Real Madrid face pressure before the Clasico

The timing of the match adds weight to the occasion. Real Madrid meet Sevilla in the ninth round of La Liga, then turn their attention to the Clasico against FC Barcelona a week later.

That context matters because Real Madrid do not want to lose too much ground on Barcelona before the meeting between the two rivals. The Sevilla match therefore carries both immediate and psychological importance.

Playing at home, Real Madrid will be expected to handle the pressure. But the situation leaves little margin for a setback, especially with the biggest domestic fixture of their season approaching.

Mbappé remains central to Real Madrid’s attack

Kylian Mbappé is another major storyline around the game. Real Madrid’s attack will again be viewed through the influence of the France forward, particularly with Vinicius absent and Endrick stepping into the starting side.

The alert text attached to the match states: « doublé de Mbappé, le Real Madrid s'envole! ». No further confirmed match details are included in the verified material, so the central confirmed pre-match facts remain Endrick’s start, Vinicius’ suspension and the timing of the fixture in the La Liga schedule.

What happens next

Real Madrid’s immediate task is Sevilla FC at home in the closing match of La Liga’s ninth round. After that, Mourinho’s side will shift focus to the Clasico against FC Barcelona, a match that gives this Sunday fixture added importance.
