Real Madrid's contract planning is moving on several fronts this October, and none of the three main stories is official yet. Spanish daily AS reported on 5 October 2026 that Arda Güler has agreed a two-year extension to 2031; Fabrizio Romano and MARCA reported on 12-13 October that Thibaut Courtois has an agreement in principle for one more year, to 2028; and La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on 9 October that Endrick is open to a Serie A loan if his minutes do not improve. Here is the latest Real Madrid transfer news on all three players, with the status of each item made clear.

Arda Güler contract: reported extension to 2031
According to AS, as relayed by Anadolu Agency and Daily Sabah, Arda Güler has agreed a two-year contract extension with Real Madrid. His current deal runs until 2029, and the new one would run until 2031. The renewal reportedly includes a salary increase, although no official figure was given, and it would be the Türkiye international's first renewal since he arrived in Madrid. No official club announcement had been made at the time of the report.
The reported agreement reflects how much Güler's status has grown. According to Daily Sabah, the 21-year-old made 40 starts last season, scoring six goals and providing a team-high 14 assists, and he had made five starts this season under José Mourinho. Transfermarkt has raised his market value from €90 million to €100 million. Mourinho, quoted by Daily Sabah, said the midfielder has fantastic potential and already has very interesting numbers.
- Current contract: until 2029
- Reported new contract: until 2031
- Last season: 40 starts, 6 goals, 14 assists (team-high)
- Market value: raised to €100m by Transfermarkt
From Fenerbahçe academy to the Bernabéu
Güler came through the Fenerbahçe academy in Istanbul and joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2023. He is now in his fourth season at the club, and the reported renewal would reward a player who has gone from a promising teenager to one of the squad's main creative outlets.
Thibaut Courtois contract: one more year agreed in principle
The second story concerns the goalkeeper. Fabrizio Romano and MARCA reported that Real Madrid and Thibaut Courtois have reached an agreement in principle on a one-year extension, as covered by Goal on 12 October and Football España on 13 October 2026. His current deal runs until June 2027, following a previous one-year extension, and the new terms would keep him at the club until 2028. The Spanish press had already reported in September that the two sides were close to an extension to 30 June 2028, according to Goal.
The deal had not been formally signed at the time of the reports, with both parties described as close to completing the paperwork. No financial terms were reported. Courtois is 34 and would be 36 when the reported new contract expires.
Lunin's position
Andriy Lunin is described as Courtois's backup and has been linked with a move away, but this is speculation only. A further year for the first-choice goalkeeper would naturally raise questions about the deputy's role, but no concrete development has been reported.
Courtois joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2018 for a reported €35 million. He has won two Champions League titles with the club, including the 2022 final, in which he was named man of the match. The Belgium international had earlier spells at Genk, Atlético Madrid (on loan from Chelsea) and Chelsea itself.
Endrick: Serie A loan idea and Milan interest
The third story is the most uncertain. La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on 9 October 2026 that Endrick has told his agents he wants to try Serie A if he does not get enough minutes under José Mourinho in the coming months. According to the Italian newspaper, Real Madrid would only let him leave on loan, with a high option to buy and a buy-back clause, a structure similar to the one used for Nico Paz's move to Como.
Gazzetta added that AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale has excellent relations with Roc Nation, the agency that represents Endrick, and that Milan believe they lead the race. Roma are also reported to be monitoring the forward. No agreement has been reported between any of the clubs.
Some context explains the situation. As Sports Illustrated noted in September, Endrick stayed at Real Madrid in the summer rather than going out on loan, and he wears the No. 9 shirt, but he also suffered a muscle injury, while new arrival Carlos Espí scored a late winner on his debut against Espanyol. The Brazil international joined from Palmeiras in 2024 after turning 18, and Real Madrid have used loan-with-buyback structures for young players in the past.
Impact on the squad: La Liga and Serie A picture
On the pitch, Real Madrid sit fourth in La Liga in Yalla Shoot data, with 18 points from eight games (six wins, two defeats), six points behind leaders Barcelona. Kylian Mbappé leads the team's league scoring with seven goals. Securing Güler and Courtois would keep two key pieces in place, while a loan for Endrick would be about development and minutes rather than the immediate title race.
In Italy, the two clubs linked with Endrick are both in the top five of Serie A after six rounds. Roma are third on 14 points and unbeaten, with Donyell Malen leading the league's scoring charts on six goals, while Milan are fifth on 12 points, also unbeaten. Both would offer a striker a competitive environment, though no move is close according to the reports.
What's next for Güler, Courtois and Endrick
For Güler and Courtois, the next step would be official confirmation from Real Madrid; until then, both remain reported agreements. For Endrick, the key period is the coming months, when his playing time under Mourinho will shape whether the Serie A option becomes real ahead of the January window.
